Aberdeen man facing charges following crash involving six vehicles

ABERDEEN, S.D. (aberdeennews.com) – An Aberdeen man faces charges of vehicular battery, driving under the influence and underage possession and consumption after a wreck early Friday morning.

Lawrence DeMarrias, 18, of Aberdeen was southbound in the 600 block of North First Street when he struck a parked vehicle just before 4 a.m., according to a news release from the Aberdeen Police Department. Six vehicles were involved in the incident, and two people were taken to the hospital.

When DeMarrias struck the parked vehicle, it pushed it into two others that were legally parked in the street, per the release. Then, still pushing two of the vehicles, he struck two more vehicles parked in the driveway at 615 N. First St., according to the report. The final vehicle hit was pushed into a fence.

DeMarrias was driving a pickup and was not injured. However, two of his passengers were, according to the release.

Trenton DeMarrias, 21, of Aberdeen and an unidentified 15-year-old girl both suffered head injuries that were not incapacitating, according to the release.
