Bikers Against Child Abuse working with other agencies to help abused children

PIERRE, S.D. (DRG News) – April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Across South Dakota, state, county and local government organizations, schools, law enforcement and more all strive to keep children safe from abuse. But, if a child needs more assurance than those agencies can provide, that’s where Bikers Against Child Abuse, Inc. (B.A.C.A.) may be able to help.

Oahe Chapter president Coon Dog says the group exists to provide aid, comfort, safety and support for children that have been sexually, physically and emotionally abused.

Coon Dog says law enforcement, social services workers and other are tasked with assisting many kids. BACA members are able to focus on one.

He says BACA members will shield the children from further abuse.

In South Dakota, there are BACA chapters based in Pierre, Aberdeen and Sioux Falls.

The Oahe Chapter meets the last Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. at the Grey Goose Store and Social Club.
