Disaster funding bill waiting until Congress returns

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – When Congress returns to Washington next week from their two-week break, the disaster funding bill will be waiting.

The bill is hung up in the Senate over disagreements in how much and where federal dollars should be spent.

South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says it is a slow, frustrating process.

Johnson says both sides need to find a compromise.

Johnson says there seems to be consensus on the need.

The bill includes about two and a half billion dollars for storm and flooding damage in the Midwest.
