Flags to be half-staff in honor of former Sioux Falls legislator

PIERRE, S.D. (Press Release) Governor Kristi Noem has ordered flags at the South Dakota State Capitol to be flown at half-staff from 8 a.m. until sunset on Saturday, June 15, 2019, to honor the life of David Vigen, a former Sioux Falls legislator.

Vigen served in the state legislature from 1971-1974. In 1974, Governor Richard Kneip appointed him as the Executive Director of the South Dakota Board of Charities and Corrections.

A memorial service for Vigen will be held on Saturday, June 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.
