Hoven homecoming parade moved to today because of approaching weather

HOVEN, S.D. (DRG News) – Because of the approaching winter storm, the students and staff at the Hoven School District decided to hold their homecoming parade today rather than Friday.

Supt. Jeremy Hurd, in an automated message sent out from the district, said the schedule planned for Friday will be followed today instead.

Hoven School District schedule for Wednesday, Oct. 9:

  • All students K-12 will be released from school at 11:30 AM (change from 11:00 AM on original schedule) and lunch will NOT be served.
  • The students will not return to classrooms. Please plan accordingly.
  • The Taco Feed will take place Wednesday from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM in the Hoven School Cafeteria.
  • Lineup for the parade begins at 1:30 PM and the Parade will begin at 2:00 PM.
  • For spirit day, we will hold Spirit Day on Wednesday and Twin Day on Friday.
  • There will not be a Pep Rally following the parade. Depending on when the football game takes place, Hoven school officials will try and hold the Pep Rally prior to the game.
