8-OK Baptist

1-Augustana  12-10

The Vikings gave up 2R in each of the 1st three innings as OK Baptist got out to a 6-0 start, but Augustana scored 6R in the B7 to take a 3-run advantage and they held on to win it, 12-10.  The defending national champs were out-hit, 18-12, but each team had 6XBH.  Jordan Barth went 2/5 w/ 2R, 2RBI, and a HR for Augie.

 

5-AR-Monticello  13-2

4-MSU

A 5-run 1st & a 6-run 7th by AR-Monticello helped them maul the Mavericks of MSU, 13-2.  The Weevils had 13H in the win, seven going for extra bases, and four going over the fence.  MSU had only 8H w/ half of them provided by the NSIC player of the year Jordan Hart who was 4/4 w/ a HR and both RBI for Mankato.

 

At Central MO…

7-MO Southern

2-Central MO  8-1

 

6-Central OK  4-3

3-SCSU

The Huskies coughed up 2-run lead in the T9 to fall to the Bronchos of UCO, 4-3.  SCSU out-hit UCO, 8-6, but a couple of walks and a pair of hits in the 9th led to 3R and a comeback win for Central OK.  Najee Gaskins was 3/5 w/ a run, 2RBI, and a triple in the loss.  Dominic Austing allowed just one unearned run in his 6inn of work, but Matt Butler’s struggles cost him & his team a win.

 

Softball

Central Super Regional (best-of-three, game one)

3-Augustana  13-5 (5inn)

1-Central OK

The Vikings took the 1st in the best-of-three series with the Bronchos yesterday, 13-5, in run-rule fashion.  Augie jumped on UCO early w/ 6R in the T1, although, the hosts came right back w/ 4R in their half of the 1st.  AU didn’t let up, though, scoring two more times in the 2nd, once in the 3rd, and 4x in the 4th.  Augustana piled up 16H to 6H for UCO.  Eight of the Augie starters had hits with Maggie Kadrlik highlighting the offense.  Kadrlik went 4/4 w/ 2R, 6RBI, and 2HR’s.
