WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds is co-sponsoring a bill that would take the first steps in eliminating the federal Department of Education.

Rounds says school districts have to deal with thousands of federal rules.

Rounds says the bill would allow school districts to apply to opt out of federal rules.
