Game One Recap

The Defenders Hannah Sikkema hit a home-run in the second inning as the first Defender at bat. The Defenders would leave two runners stranded as the Saints Bibiana Villeda (JR/Lake Elsinore, CA) would only have three hits in the inning. The Saints would leave one runner stranded during the second inning, with Darrian Gibson (SR/Box Elder, SD) hitting a single late and stealing a base before Skye Carter (SO/Sacramento, CA) collected the third out for the Saints. The Defenders would score two run in the fifth inning, giving them a 3-0 victory, as the Saints were unable to score a run. Villeda has 14 hits in the game, with four strikeouts and three runs allowed.


Game Two Recap

The Defenders Erin Bredemus hit her first home-run of the season, giving the Defenders a 3-0 lead as Bredemus was the third Defender at bat. The Defenders would get two more single runs late in the first inning. The Saints went three and out in the first as the Saints trailed 5-0 early. The Defenders scored in the top of the second inning, as they collected three hits during the inning. The Saints would collect one hit in the inning, leaving two runners stranded. In the fifth inning, the first two runners for the Defenders reached the bases on walks. The Defenders had four runs during the inning, for a 10-0 lead as the Saints were struck out in the fifth. On the pitcher’s mound for the Saints, Yulissa Pena (FR/Palmdale, CA) had 13 hits and three strikeouts in the game.
