The Saints – who have struggled all weekend at the plate – struck first in the bottom of the second inning to take the early 2-0 lead. After a lead-off walk by Zane Hunt and a single by Eric Hernandez, both moved into scoring position after they both stole at the next at-bat. Hunt would cross home after an error by MMC’s catcher and Hernandez would follow on a passed ball for the two-run inning.

Two innings later, the Saints extended their lead up to three after an RBI single by Kyle Angielski (SO/Regina, SK, CAN) to score Hernandez – who reached base on a walk.

However, despite throwing five scoreless innings, Joey Wollman (JR/Aberdeen, SD) gave up the first Lancer run of the game on a sacrifice fly to score Mimmack. The Lancers ended up scoring again in the following inning to cut the deficit down to one run.
