Vehicles, tractor lost, no injuries reported at repair shop fire in Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.D. (Press Release) – Crews were called to a structure fire in Columbia Monday night.

The call came in at 11:12 last night at 111 South Lake Blvd. in Columbia. This was an automotive repair shop that was fully involved when crews arrived. Crews were able to successfully protect a nearby house and garage.

Fire Crews from Columbia, Groton, and Aberdeen Rural were called in to help with the fire. Brown County Emergency Management, Brown County Sheriff’s office and Northwestern Energy all aided the firefighting efforts. Three vehicles and one tractor were lost inside the structure, but no injuries were reported.

Columbia Fire Department was still on scene as of 8 this morning watching for hot spots. No cause had been determined yet and was still under investigation.
