Winter tough on fish in lake at Wylie Park

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – This past winter was tough on just about everything and that includes the fish that were in the lake at Wylie Park.

The brutal conditions likely played a role in fish that washed up on shore recently, according to Mark Hoven, Parks Superintendent with the Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.

Hoven said that no officials numbers were recorded on the amount of fish that did not make it through the winter.

He said the lake will be restocked and will feature plenty of fish.

The weather has also delayed the opening of Storybook Land. Hoven is hoping that the popular attraction will open for the season this weekend.
