ABERDEEN, SD (PCSaints.com) – Presentation College has promoted Blake Spindler from Director of Athletic Training Services & Assistant Athletic Director to the role of Interim Athletic Director. Spindler has worked at PC since the fall of 2013 and is also an alumnus of the school. He played basketball and ran cross country, and he graduated with a degree in Health and Human Performance in 2010.
“I am excited to be named the next athletic director at Presentation College. I am eager to continue enhancing the student-athlete experience and building off our strong athletic foundation. I look forward to bringing back the community and alumni excitement about PC athletics,” said Spindler.
As the Director of Athletic Training, Spindler oversaw sports medicine for all sports but his primary sports were Football and Women’s Basketball. After graduating from Presentation, Spindler went on to earn a Master of Athletic Training (MATrg) degree from North Dakota State University in 2012. During graduate school, Blake spent a season with the North Dakota State University FCS national championship football team (2011).
Prior to his employment at Presentation College, he spent one year working for Sanford Health as an Athletic Trainer providing medical coverage at Northland Community & Technical College.
“I am excited to announce that Blake Spindler has accepted the Interim Athletic Director role. Blake understands the culture of Presentation College and what it takes for our programs to be successful. During his time here, he has developed great relationships with our coaches, faculty, and other PC staff. Those relationships will be a great asset in helping support our athletic department, and more specifically our student-athletes, both on and off the playing field. Furthermore, his ability to develop relationships in the community will help us continue increasing the presence of PC athletics throughout Aberdeen and the region,” said Presentation College Executive Vice President for Campus Operations, Marcus Garstecki.
Additionally, Spindler is a member of the C.A.R.E. team, an instructor, serves was part of the COVID-19 task force, and served as an Athletic Training Preceptor for the Athletic Training Program.
