ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – On Friday, two members of the Aberdeen Central girls golf squad came into the studio to join David Tukesbrey on “The Sports Hub” on Fox Sports Aberdeen. Head Coach Kim Zimmerman also made an appearance, too. Freshman Oliva Braun & Emma Dohrer have seen great success on the links this season; Coach Zimmerman reflects on the year to date.

Dohrer, who finished in fifth place on Tuesday at the ESD meet, said that just getting outside and practicing has been integral in her and the team’s successes.

Braun, who placed second on Tuesday at Cattail Crossing GC, talks about mental toughness being perhaps the most important part of the game of golf.

This year, the state AA tournament will be held in Pierre; Dohrer says she enjoys playing in the capital city.

Coach Zimmerman says that they’ve been very competitive with Mitchell this season, he’s looking forward to battling them (& other teams) during the state tournament.

Olivia Braun says she likes Central’s chances to compete for a state tournament title.

The state tournament begins on June the 5th and runs through the sixth at Hillsview GC in Pierre.
