[Hub-Cast!] Smittys Skipper Stops by Sports Hub

ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – On Tuesday’s episode of “The Sports Hub,” the manager for the Aberdeen Smittys, Brandon Kusler visited the studio to talk about the Smittys’ hot start to the season.

After 15 games, Aberdeen has won 66% of their games, sitting at 10-5 and Kusler likes where they’re at right now.

Even though the Smittys are off to a great start, they had to go the first week or two without their full compliment of players. Multiple athletes were still finishing up with high school track & field, or college coursework. Two players in particular being back in the lineup has given them a big boost.

On Sunday, during a sweep of Pierre Post #8, Drew Salfrank drilled a walk off single for the 10-9 victory. Kusler says when he’s at the plate, he’s just being himself.

As a manager, Kusler says there’s always ways that the team can improve and get better.

Jaden Smith has been playing solid ball for the squad, too. He has delivered great things on the mound + helped his cause at the plate.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, the Aberdeen Smittys will go up against the team that’s always been at, or near the top of the South Dakota Legion baseball mountain, the Hardhats of Post 22. Kusler looks forward to the challenge.
