Joshua Paul Jung was born on December 2, 1980, to Paul Jung Jr. and Joan (Tvinnereim) Jung in Aberdeen, SD. He was raised in Aberdeen, attended local schools, and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1999. Aberdeen remained his lifelong home, where he worked in various sales and trade roles, most recently for 13 years at ABC Seamless Siding & Windows. Josh built many lasting friendships throughout the community.
If you knew Josh, you knew a man who never met a stranger or a problem he wouldn’t try to fix. He had a heart of gold and was always the first person to lend a helping hand. Whether it was showing up with a truck when someone was moving, jump-starting a car in the middle of a blizzard, helping with a remodeling project, or listening to a friend’s troubles until the sun came up, Josh gave freely of his time, strength, and heart to anyone in need. When the work was done, he was happiest on the water, spending time in any river or lake with his beloved dog, Nelly.
Josh had a way of lighting up every room he entered. Known as the life of the party, he had an endless supply of stories, a contagious laugh, and a gift for making everyone around him feel welcome. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Josh is survived by his two greatest treasures: Jillian and David. He is also survived by his mother, Joan Jung of Aberdeen; sister, Nikki (Robb) Tupy and their children, Ashley, Alyssa, and Rylee; and brother, Jeremy (Joelle) Jung and their children, Savanna, Alayna, and Gracyn; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Jung Jr., grandparents, and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
