NSU Soccer Defender Earns NSIC Player of the Week Award

BURNSVILLE, MN (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University graduate student Lilja Davidsdottir was named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, following the Wolves’ shutout win over MSU-Moorhead on Sunday. Davidsdottir is the second women’s soccer player to earn player of the week honors this season, and claims conference defender of the week honors for the second time in her career (once last season).

  • Played the full 90 minutes in a 3-0 win over MSU Moorhead
  • Led the Wolves defense that allowed a total of six shots and two shots-on-goal
  • NSU recorded its ninth win by way of a shutout and their 11th total shutout of the season
  • NSU defense ranks eighth nationally in total shutouts (11) and is tied for 18th in shutout percentage (0.611)
