The Northern State University softball team closed out their 3-game series at William Jewell College, falling 1-0 to the Cardinals. The Wolves out-hit the Cardinals in the contest and left eight runners on base, however three defensive errors led to their demise.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern tallied four hits in the contest and left eight runners on base through seven innings, while William Jewell tallied just one unearned run and one hit in the win
- WJC recorded their one run in the bottom of the first inning and were held off the base paths for a majority of the contest, leaving just two runners on through the preceding six innings
- The Wolves saw four players notch a hit in the contest, led by Claire Zyblut with a double, going 1-for-4
- Hannah Smith, Avarie Eagle, and Ashley Fauske he notched singles in the game
- Meghan Anderson threw well for the Wolves but ultimately suffered the loss, holding the Cardinals to one hit in six innings of work with seven strikeouts
