NSU Swimmers Start 3-Day Competition in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, SD (NSUWolves.com) – After one day at the Augustana Invitational the Northern State swim team currently sits in sixth place out of 12 teams with 63 points. The Wolves saw four swimmers advance to the final’s session on Thursday evening with Lilly Grebner and Lauren Forsyth earning top-15 finishes in their events. Northern’s evening session was highlighted by Grebner who not only set a new personal-best time in her victory in the 200-yard IM, but she also broke her own NSU freshman record set earlier this season and earned an NCAA B-Cut time in the event.



  • With three Northern State teams competing in the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Maddie Gonzales, Mayson Sheldon, Lauren Forsyth, and Delaney Ryken was the highest placing NSU team in 20th with a season-best time of 1:49.68 in the event
  • Ryken competed in the C-Finals of the 50-yard freestyle, hitting the wall in a personal-best time of 24.27 for a 29th place finish
  • Lilly Grebner highlighted the Wolves first day of competition at the Augustana Invitational with a personal-best time and NCAA B-Cut time of 2:03.84 to win the 200-yard IM; Grebner defeated seven NCAA Division I swimmers from South Dakota and South Dakota State in the A-Finals of the event
  • Gonzales swam to a 29th place finish in the 200-yard IM, finishing with a season-best time of 2:15.69 in the C-Finals of the event
  • Forsyth and Grebner both competed in the B-Finals of the 100-yard butterfly, Forsyth earned a 13th place finish with a season-best time of 57.38 and Grebner recorded an 18th place finish with a time of 58.42
  • In the 800-yard freestyle relay, the team of Maddie Gonzales, Delaney Ryken, Haley Osborne, and Lilly Grebner was the highest placing NSU team with a 12th place finish after hitting the wall in a season-best time of 7:59.49 in the event


  • Lilly Grebner: won 200-yard IM (2:03.84), finished 18th in 100-yard butterfly (58.42)
  • Lauren Forsyth: finished 13th in 100-yard butterfly (57.38)
