Prairie Lake and Sanford merger to impact naming rights in Watertown

WATERTOWN, S.D. (KWAT)–Watertown-based Prairie Lakes Healthcare System will be combining with Sanford Health of Sioux Falls, and that will impact the names of two buildings in Watertown—the Prairie Lakes Wellness Center and Prairie Lakes Ice Arena.
Prairie Lakes secured naming rights agreements on both facilities for a combined $6.7 million; $2.2 million for the Wellness Center, and $4.5 million for the ice arena.

Sanford media relations director Paul Heinert e-mailed a statement to Watertown Radio that reads:

“Initially, the Prairie Lakes Healthcare System name and logo will remain in place on those facilities. But over time, the names at both sites will become fully branded as Sanford Health.”

It’s not known exactly when the names and signage on those buildings will change, but we’ll eventually see the Sanford Wellness Center and Sanford Ice Arena in Watertown.
