Region 6B Tourney in Redfield (day two)


Wess. Springs 13-12


WS won another 13-12 ballgame, this time slipping past Hamlin to end their season. After holding on to beat WIN by that same score after allowing 4R in the T7 on Tuesday, WS fought back from a 12-8 deficit in the T7, scoring 5x and putting a zero on the board in the bottom of the frame for the win. This one was wild as Hamlin held a 3-2 lead going into the 4th. Each team put up a crooked number over the next 2.5inn before Hamlin was shut-out in the B7. Hamlin held an 11-9 lead in hits, but they committed seven errors to WS’s two. Mason Schelske plated four in the win.



Groton 20-3 [5inn]

Groton racked up a 20-run performance for a 2nd-straight day in the tourney, this time eliminating WIN, 20-3. The squad had just ten hits, but they drew numerous walks and got help from two errors. Kaleb Hoover led Groton w/ 3RBI. Groton put things away early, scoring nine times each in the first two frames.


Groton 26-13 [6inn]

Wess. Springs

WS was eliminated, despite scoring 13 runs for a 3rd time in the tourney, as Groton advanced with an offensive explosion, 26-13. Groton actually out-scored WS in one inning alone, piling up 16 runs in the T5 to go from down 7-5 to ahead 21-7. Groton did all this damage despite being well behind in hits, 17-10. WS committed one more error in the game at 6-5. Tate Larson, Ryan Groeblinghoff, and Andrew Marzahn each knocked in four for Groton, while Mason Schelske had a 5-hit game for WS.




Redfield 18-2 [5inn]

Redfield pummeled Clark, 18-2, to be the last remaining unbeaten team in the bracket. Clark committed seven errors and got out-hit 15-4 in the game. Kellan Hurd plated three for Redfield.


Region 1B Tourney in Webster (day one)

Castlewood  6-3

Big Stone City


Claremont 13-5


Sisseton committed six errors and got out-hit 13-8 in the loss. Jesse Keough went the distance and whiffed five in the win.



Milbank 13-3 [6inn]

Milbank snapped a scoreless tie w/ an 8-run 3rd, then cruised to the win over C/CL, 13-3. Post #9 held a 12-3 lead in hits as well.



Claremont 7-5

Each team had ten hits, but BC scratched out a couple more runs in a 7-5 win over Webster. BC scored one or two runs in each of the innings, except the 2nd.
