Saints Fall in Sioux Center Against Dordt

Sioux Center, IA ( – The Presentation College Saints drop their final non-conference game today to the Dordt University Defenders by a score of 75-108. The Saints are now 5-8 on the season overall and 0-1 in the NSAA.

The Saints and Defenders went back and forth for the first three minutes of the first half and were tied at five. The Saints would battle back with just over six minutes remaining to cut the lead to eight points on a Jeremiah Gilyard (JR/Palatka, FL) jumper. The Defenders would go on a 23 to 13 run to finish the half. Isaiah Cabrera (JR/Newark, CA) did hit a three as time expired in the half.

The Saints continued to fight in the second half despite being shorthanded for the third straight game during the holiday break. The Defenders kept their double digit lead for the entire second half. The Saints were limited to 33 second half points.

By the Numbers…

The Saints had four players in double digit scoring this afternoon led by Jeremiah Gilyard with 12 points. Isaiah Cabrera and Jackson Becker (JR/Aberdeen, SD) both had 11 points. The final Saint with double digit points was Travez Nyx (SR/Detroit, MI) with ten points. Ontario Chapman (JR/Evanston, IL) led the Saints with seven rebounds. Nyx and Cabrera both had three assists each. The Saints shot 46.9% from the field, 39.1% from behind the arch and were perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.

Next up for the Saints is a conference road trip to Wisconsin and Iowa. Friday night 1/6 they will face Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. at 7:30 PM. On Saturday 1/7 the Saints will take on Waldorf University in Forest City, IA. at 5 PM.
