Saints Skunked In Nebraska vs. Midland

Elkhorn Neb. – The Presentation College Saints wrapped up their three game series with the Warriors of Midland University today. The Saints lost to the Warriors in seven innings today by a score of 0 – 10. The Saints are 0-14 overall on the season.

Tyus Stanley (SR/Federal Way, WA) singled to get the game started for the Saints. Cobi Woodfin (FR/Christoval, TX) followed it up with a bunt single of his own. The Saints the next three batters got out leaving two Saints on base. The Saints held the Warriors scoreless in the bottom of the first. The Saints went down in order in the second inning. The Warriors got a hit in the bottom of the second but that was all the Saints allowed. The Saints went down in order in the third inning. The Warriors stranded two baserunners in the third. After the first three innings it was a scoreless ballgame from Elkhorn, Neb.

Ethan Leech (SR/Casper, WY) singled in the fourth inning between two outs for the Saints. Matthew Womack (SR/Houston, TX) was hit by a pitch to reach base in the fourth. Unfortunately for the Saints they stranded those two baserunners in the fourth. The Warriors we able to score five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. After the Warriors put up their five runs in the fourth the Saints went down in order in the fifth inning. The Warriors loaded the bases but the Saints were able to get out of the fifth inning without giving up a run. The Saints were retired in order in the sixth inning. In the home half of the sixth inning the Warriors were able to add two runs. After six innings the Saints trailed the Warriors by seven.

In the seventh inning Blake Portalski (JR/Tacoma, WA) drew a walk but there was no other actions for the Saints in the seventh. The Warriors were able to plate three runs in the bottom of the seventh. With the ten runs the game was called by the run rule.
