• After dropping a pair of heartbreakers to Yankton on Wednesday, the Aberdeen Smittys responded with a vengeance down south in Sioux Falls as they swept Post 15 west, drubbing them in game one, 18-4 and winning game two, 7-1.

• Casey Vining got the win in game one on the hill, going the full five innings in the run rule victory. He surrendered only one earned run and struck out three. He also helped his cause at the plate, hitting a HR. Jaden Smith continued his hot play at the dish going 2-3 with three runs scored and 4RBI. The Smittys got at least one RBI from seven of their nine batters and put up 11 runs in the first inning and laughed their way to a win in game one.

• In game two Phillip Zens toed the rubber and delivered six and third innings of one hit ball while striking out six. Casey Vining was 3-5 at the plate with 2RBI. Jaden Smith & Cooper Eisenbeisz each cranked out a pair of RBI. The Smittys improved their record to 8-5 on the season and in seven of their eight wins, they’ve had double digit runs.
