Yankton Post 12 10 F/7
- On Wednesday in Yankton, the Aberdeen Smittys dropped a pair of games against Yankton Post 12; losing game one in 10 innings, 3-2 and losing game two, 10-6.
- In game one, it was a pitchers dual throughout. Starting hurler Jaden Smith went four innings of solid work and surrendered only one hit and a pair of earned runs while fanning 3. He helped his own cause with a solo HR, but the rest of the offense was stymied by solid Yankton pitching. Post 12 walked the Smittys off in the bottom of the 10th inning for a 3-2 win.
- In game two, the Smittys dug themselves a deep 6-0 hole before recording three outs and were playing catch up. Aberdeen responded posting a crooked ‘6’ number of their own in the top of the 4th to tie things up, but promptly surrendered four in the bottom of the frame and that score would stay for the final three innings. Ethan Kjenstad went 2-4 at the dish with a pair of RBI in the four run shortcoming. Aberdeen also got an RBI each from Phillip Zens, Drew Salfrank, Zane Backous & Cooper Eisenbeisz. The Smittys return to action on Thursday (6/1) against Sioux Falls Post 15 West at 4:30p & 6:30p, respectively.
