How it Happened:
Presentation’s Luiz Ferreira (SR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) took the Saints kick-off to start the game. Luther starts the quarter with a completed passed for a 14-yard gain. The Norse strike again completing a 45-yard rush before Sevre is able to make the stop. 9:47 on the clock and the Saints start their 2nd drive of the game Frazier is able to string a few small yard gain passes before Coston rushes right for a 16 yard gain to give PC first down. Fraizer is able to string a couple more 5-yard passes allowing Presentation to get to Luther’s 24 yard line. Second and nine for the Saints, Laurenz Plummer (SR/Memphis, TN) takes a deep middle route and Fraizer finds the connection for a Saints Touchdown. Ferreira’s attempt was good and PC takes the lead 7-0.
With 6:36 on the clock and Luther begins their 3rd drive of the game, Beau Cornwell completes a deep right 70-yard pass but Severe is on the quick tackle putting the Norse on the Presentation 15. With the Norse at 3rd and 2 Cornwall connect with Diego Lopez giving LC their first touchdown of the game. Luther’s attempt for the extra point resulted in a miss, keeping PC ahead 7-6.
In Presentation’s 3rd drive a hard tackle from the Norse would result in a Saint’s fumble recovered by the Norse. The Saints would waste no time responding on Luther’s next drive as Isaiah Lawson (SO/Lakewood, CO) intercepts a pass from Cornwell, returning the ball for 17 yards.
In Luther’s final drive of the quarter they would advance the ball quick. Completing back to back bounds the Norse would put themselves at the Presentation 31. With the pressure on the Saints defense Cornwell makes a deep pass to the left side that looks like it will find a Norse player in the endzone but Lawson comes up with a huge stop for the Saints intercepting it at the 3 yard line.
Presentation would be able to control the ball on their first drive of the second quarter, chipping away at the Luther defense. The Saints are able to move the ball from the Presentation 3-yard line to the Luther 1-yard line but come up short on converting the touchdown. Presentation takes their second drive of the second quarter with 6:30 left on the clock. Fraizer starts the drive with a connection to Cameron Sheppard for a 13-yard completed pass and Saints first down. Coston is able to rush middle for another Saints 13-yard gain and first down. On Presentation’s 2nd and 4, Frazier connects with Coston in the endzone for a 20-yard pass completion and Saints touchdown. Ferreira is able to send another safe extra point for the Saints extending their lead 16-6.
As the Norse approach their final drive of the first half, they are able to take heavy gain into the Presentation backfield. Luther’s offensive advancement would end with a 11-yard loss with a huge sack from Michael Hawkins (SR/Fresno, CA).
In the second half, both teams would exchange a few quick and short-lived drives as both sides would make defense stops forcing the possession switch. The Norse would start strong with a 13-yard gain on a rush before Cornwell’s pass would get intercepted by Severe. Severe is able to return the Saints ball for 12 yards and a Presentation Touchdown. Ferreira’s kick would be good, and the Saints would push their lead to 23-6.
Presentation would start the drive in the 4th quarter. After a Frazier connection to Sheppard to give the Saints first down, Presentation switched up their offensive attack putting the ball in the hands of Coston and Abdulahi Yusuf (FR/Tucson, AZ) for the carry. The rushing attack proved to pay off as the Saints get to the Luther 6-yard line and give Ferreira the chance for 3. Ferreira laces a easy 16 yard field goal giving Presentation a 29-6 lead. Each team would get 2 more drives a piece before the game came to an end but neither team would be able to convert their drives and PC would take the game 29-6.
