Two Trojans Nab NSAA Basketball Player of the Week Awards


North Star Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week

Savannah Walsdorf – Dakota State (SD) – 6’0″ – Junior – forward – Kiel, Wis. – Walsdorf averaged nearly a double-double for the week as Dakota State went 3-0. She posted a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds in DaSU’s 78-49 victory at Mount Marty (SD). She followed up with nine points, seven rebounds, and six steals in the Trojans’ 70-48 victory over Iowa Wesleyan. She wrapped up the week with 19 points and nine rebounds in a 100-67 win over Indiana Northwest. For the week, Walsdorf averaged 14.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. She also hit 16-of-34 field goals and made all eight free throw attempts. She accumulated 12 assists and 10 steals for the week.



North Star Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week

Deshawn Kelly – Dakota State (SD) – 6’3″ – Senior – guard – Seattle, Wash. – Kelly shot 11-of-14 from the field, including 5-of-8 from the 3-point arc, as Dakota State rolled to a 98-66 road victory at in-state rival Mount Marty (SD). He poured in a career-high 28 points. Kelly also dished out two assists and stole the ball three times in the game.
