Wolves Drop Doubleheader To Mauraders

Bismarck, ND (NSUWolves.com) – The Northern State baseball team fell twice at Bismarck Municipal Ballpark on Wednesday afternoon, dropping games by scores of 16-3 and 5-4 to UMary. The Wolves were unable to gain momentum in game one as the Marauders used a big fifth inning to seize control of the contest. Northern flipped the switch in game two and held a 3-run lead after six innings, however UMary scored two runs in the ninth to record the sweep.

  • Zach Carolin made his eighth start of the season and sent UMary 3-up, 3-down to open the game, however Northern State was unable to capitalize on the momentum by leaving the bases loaded

  • NSU regained the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning as Jonah Schmidt crossed home plate on an RBI double to right field by Pezonella

Northern State is scheduled to face Southwest Minnesota State in this weekend’s 3-game NSIC series. The Wolves are set to face the Mustangs at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. in Saturday’s doubleheader and will close the series with a single game at 12 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Fossum Field.
