Wolves’ Wrestlers Ranked 21st in Final Coaches’ Poll of the Season as National Championship Bracket is Released

(NorthernSun.org) – The NSU Wolves’ Wrestling Team sits at #21 in the NWCA’s final Coaches’ Rankings of the 2022-23 campaign. Northern was ranked 22nd the week prior. Central OK is at #1 in the rankings, followed by Lander in 2nd, St. Cloud State & WI-Parkside are tied for 3rd, and Adams State rounds out the top five teams.

The Wolves will send three wrestlers to the NCAA DII National Championships this weekend in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the brackets came out this past weekend. In the 149-pound competition, Wyatt Turnquist gets the 7-seed & will face the winner of an earlier bout between Dallas Wilson of Mount Olive & Austin Fietz of Lake Erie. Devin Bahr will compete in the 157-pound group against 6th-ranked Nathan Smith of Pitt-Johnstown. Finally, Cole Huss was given the 5-seed at 197 pounds. He’ll clash with Bryce Walker of UNC-Pembroke in the 1st round.
