PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The South Dakota Transportation Commission rejected several bids for construction work this year that came in well over estimates.

Department Secretary Darin Bergquist says they have seen a quick turnaround on bids.

Bergquist says the cold, wet spring delayed a lot of work.

Bergquist says they have seen fewer companies bidding on some of those projects.

Bergquist says most of the projects will be re-bid this fall and next spring.
