Miller to become Highway Patrol Superintendent during ceremony Friday

PIERRE, S.D. (Press Release) – South Dakota Highway Patrol Major Rick Miller will officially become the 15th superintendent in the Patrol’s 82-year history during a state Capitol Rotunda ceremony Friday.

An official transfer of command ceremony starts at 10 a.m. Miller will take command of the Patrol from former Highway Patrol Superintendent Craig Price, who is now the Cabinet Secretary of the Department of Public Safety. Miller also will be promoted to Colonel during the ceremony. Lt. Gov. Larry Rhoden will be the guest speaker.
