ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The inaugural Vietnam Veterans Hope & Healing Retreat is set for Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8-9 at The Abbey of the Hills near Marvin.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. on Feb. 8 and the retreat runs from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. that day, and concludes at noon on Feb. 9.

A regional veteran came up with the idea, according to Brenna Rausch, event coordinator. She talked about the goals of the event.

Rausch said a free-will offering will be accepted. A suggested donation is $150 which covers lodging and meals, but Rausch said she doesn’t want cost to be a deterrent from coming.

The hope is that this will be the first of many events in the future.
