WARNER, S.D.(Press Release)- Today I am Honored to announce my campaign for the State of South Dakota, House of Representatives, for District #1.
My life of service started soon after I graduated early from Aberdeen Central High School. I served by enlisting in the United States Navy and attended one of the most difficult training schools in the Service. At the age of 18 I graduated from the United States Military Intelligence School, Ft. Devens, MA, with a Top Secret (SCI) security clearance and proudly served at the highest level for 7 years, as a Cryptologic Naval Intelligence Analyst. I attended many advanced schools and was Class Honor Graduate in Pensacola, FL. Always excelling at the wide-ranging Missions that were tasked. Unfortunately, my career in the Intelligence Community was cut short due to a service-connected accident that left me unable to continue operating at that high level.
I returned home to Warner, SD and started a local small business, serving in my community while trying to learn to live with injury and loss of the Comradery of our Brothers and Sisters.
I continued to serve in many different roles with Team Rubicon (disaster relief), The Mission Continues (community projects), 9 Line Foundation (building handicap accessible homes for severely disabled Veterans), K9s For Warriors (service dogs for veterans in need) and as the Post Commander of the American Legion in Warner, SD.
In 2017 I found service in the role of Founder and CEO of the Multi-time Nationally and Locally Awarded DTOM 22/0 Foundation. This lifechanging calling was the challenge to get into the Arena and fight with everything I had against the (recognized) 22 suicides per day in our military community. We just simply had to do more. In 2019 the DTOM Veterans Ranch was started in Warner, SD. I have been so blessed with this Purpose, to help and serve so many Veterans. Honoring the Oath we took, to take care of each other, and all at no cost to them. I have been so Honored to represent Veterans as the South Dakota Veteran of the Year, the Rich Kezar Veteran of the Year, American Legion Auxiliary Public Spirit Award, ALA Caregiver National Award, ABBY Bridge Builder and many more. What these awards produce is for my voice to advocate to a different level for Veterans. As a South Dakota Representative, it will allow that voice to raise to another level. Always supporting the members of our Military.
As a Representative of District 1, I will stand firmly behind my Faith. I am steadfast in being pro-life, pro 2nd amendment, defending the Constitution and conservative values. I will wholeheartedly stand beside our Military, Veterans, 1st Responders, Landowners, Small Business Owners, Farmers and Ranchers and our incredible community. I will not stand in front of you and tell you one thing and vote different the next day.
Some Legislators have spent their entire lives in South Dakota and that is great. I chose a different path, one of service. I went out, served and gained vast experience resources with many individuals and organizations. Now I can apply that experience, those ideas and hard-fought lessons. I can utilize my contacts to make a difference right here at home. Together, we can make South Dakota the greatest state in the Union. I would appreciate your vote and I am always available for input or ideas.
I would personally like to thank those individuals in my life who are very close and important to me that helped with this decision. I value them, appreciated their support and great input more than I can put into words.
Thank You and God Bless,
Christopher Reder
Candidate South Dakota House of Representatives
