ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council addressed a request to allow Mayor Travis Schaunaman to work on a contract with the Aberdeen Convention & Visitors Bureau which exceed the $5,000 threshold.
Deputy Mayor Alan Johnson explained why Mayor Schaunaman had to recuse himself from voting on this.
Johnson went over what’s in the contract.
Schaunaman described what he would be doing with the Aberdeen CVB.
Schaunaman talked about the main purpose of the contract.
Schaunaman was asked about the discounted rate to Aberdeen CVB. He explained the original plan was to only produce three videos instead of seven that was decided.
The council approved the request on a 7-1 vote. Only Councilman Rob Ronayne was opposed.
