PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- Two people were found unharmed after a water search Monday night on Lake Oahe about 15 miles north of Pierre/Fort Pierre.

Pierre Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad chief Ian Paul says a jet ski with two riders went missing from the Spring Creek Recreation Area around 9:30pm.

Paul says the missing jet skiers– who are local residents and familiar with the Spring Creek Recreation Area– were found downstream on the Hughes County side, after about an hour and a half of searching.

The two missing people were wearing life jackets– something Paul says is critical when enjoying Lake Oahe and the Missouri River.

Paul says multiple agencies were involved with last night’s search.

The Pierre Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad covers land and water rescue for a large portion of the Pierre/Fort Pierre area.
