2nd time in 2 weeks a burglary takes place in Rapid City involving a vehicle crashing into a store

RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- For the second time in two weeks, a pickup has driven through a Rapid City storefront.

While the first incident was quickly identified as an alcohol-related crash, Brendyn Medina, spokesperson for the Rapid City Police Department, said theft was involved this time.

It is unknown exactly how much damage was done to the inside of the store.

Medina said it’s unclear if the ram-raid was planned.

The status of the vehicle, which was left behind on-scene, is unknown. The driver remains at large and residents are encouraged to contact RCPD with any information.
