SD Dept of Health reported in 2 COVID-19 related deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 2 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The death total currently at 1,888. The state had 134 new cases and 109 recoveries, increasing active infections to 1,933. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 89.

So far, South Dakota has had 112,427 cases and 108,606 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 3 new cases and 1 recovery. The county currently has 63 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,129 confirmed cases and 4,978 recoveries. There’s currently 88 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,011 cases, followed by Pennington County with 12,903, and Lincoln County with 7,751. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,986, Brookings with 3,588, Davison with 2,952, Lawrence with 2,823 and Yankton with 2,802.

Statewide 144,585 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 25% of the state) with 76,646 receiving 2 doses needed to complete vaccination(over 13% of the state).  Brown County has 6,223 receiving at least one shot & 3,468 getting the 2 shots need to complete vaccination.
