SD Dept of Health reports no new COVID-19 deaths Tuesday

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported no new COVID-related deaths, while active cases & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 1,912. The state had 142 new cases and 104 recoveries, increasing active infections to 2,144. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 69.

So far, South Dakota has had 114,791 cases and 110,735 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 5 new cases and 4 recoveries. The county currently has 73 active cases. Overall, the county has had 5,212 confirmed cases and 5,050 recoveries. There’s currently 89 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 28,717 cases, followed by Pennington County with 13,079, and Lincoln County with 7,957. Other counties totals include Codington with 4,102, Brookings with 3,665, Davison with 3,007, Lawrence with 2,841 and Yankton with 2,841.

Statewide 198,434 have received at least one dose of COVID-19 Vaccine(over 34% of the state) with 113,010 completing vaccination(over 19% of the state).  Brown County has 9,471 receiving at least one shot & 5,431 completing vaccination.
