WASHINGTON, D.C.(WNAX)- The US Department of Agriculture is rolling out millions of dollars to help small meat processors and lockers expand and compete.

Planning and Development District Three in Yankton is getting over two million dollars for those type of programs.

Areawide Business Council Administrator Laurie Cowman says they did a survey of processors in their service area.

Cowman says they are setting up a revolving loan fund.

Cowman says the loans will be secondary funding.

USDA is expected to roll out almost four hundred million dollars to help support small lockers and processors.
