SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELOLAND)– An inmate died Sunday night at a local hospital, according to the South Dakota Department of Corrections.

In a news release, the DOC said 86-year-old Dallas Krausch died Sunday. He was serving his sentence at Mike Durfee State Prison for for sexual exploitation of a child and loitering within a community safety zone.

This is the 10th state inmate to die this year.

KELOLAND News recently looked back at inmate deaths over the past decade. This is the 93rd inmate death within the DOC since 2015.

No cause of death was provided by the DOC.
