Yankton (WNAX) – The Yankton City Commission approved adding reserve officers to the Yankton Police Department at their meeting last (Monday) night.

Police Commander Jason Foote says they those officers will be fully trained.

Foote says the reserves will work with full time officers.

Foote says other cities are using reserves in a variety of roles.

Foote says they want to add two reserve officers with more possible later.
