WASHINGTON, D.C.(KMIT)- This fall, the United States saw a significant spike in cases of RSV, which is the leading cause of hospitalizations in all infants.  Immunologist and American Lung Association board member Dr. Juanita Mora explains what RSV is.

The American Lung Association launched a campaign to help inform parents and caregivers about RSV and new ways they can protect their children.  Dr. Mora says there is a new antibody to help prevent severe RSV.

RSV’s symptoms are similar to that of the common cold.  Dr. Mora says there are signs signaling a more serious situation.
