WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)–The Watertown School District is moving ahead with Phase Two of its athletic facility upgrades.
The school board voted Monday night to approve a base bid of just under $10.4 million dollars to Hasslen Construction of Ortonville, Minnesota.
School District Superintendent Jeff Danielsen explains what’s in Phase Two.
Phase 3 of the project has been eliminated. Danielsen says that meant cutting some things out of their plans.
Phase One of this project involved a total rebuild of the track at Allen Mitchell Field. It had a price tag of $3.9 million, and was approved in June 2022.
After some delays in getting Phase Two construction approved, Danielsen is happy to see the school board give it a green light.
Danielsen says construction on Phase 2 will commence immediately following the Watoma Relays in April, with a scheduled completion date of July 2025.
