ABERDEEN, S.D. (Hub City Radio) – One person has succumbed to their injuries after a shooting occurred near the Aberdeen YMCA early Wednesday afternoon.

At 12:17 p.m. on Wednesday, law enforcement and EMS were dispatched to the parking area of the Aberdeen YMCA in reference to a shooting.

Captain Tanner Jondahl with the Aberdeen Police Department was able to provide a statement this morning.

Police say the shooting was unrelated to the YMCA and Avera St. Luke’s Hospital campus was placed on lock down status simply due to the close proximity of the incident.
