Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University head coach Rocky Burkett announced six additions to the Wolves wrestling program following National Signing Day. Grady Fey (Redfield, S.D.), Sloan Johannsen (Watertown, S.D.), Gavin Johnson (Kenyon, Minn.), Karstyn Lhotak (Wagner, S.D.), Brady Westall (New Prague, Minn.), and Rayden Zens (Aberdeen, S.D.) will join the Wolves in the fall of 2024.

Grady Fey is a 6-foot, 285-pound wrestler out of Redfield High School. He is a 6-year starter and team captain for the Pheasants under the direction of head coaches Doug Wright and Kelby Hawkins. Fey is a 3-time state placer, as a -2time runner-up and eighth place finisher. In addition, he is a 3-time Aberdeen News All-Area team member. He is the son of Malinda and Casey Fey.

Sloan Johannsen is a 5-foot-4, 125-pound wrestler out of Watertown High School. He is a 4-year starter and team captain for the Arrows under the direction of head coach Chad Welch. Johannsen is a 3-time South Dakota State Champion and holds a 132-match win streak. He has 136 total high school victories with just one loss. In addition, Johannsen is a 2021 Fargo All-American, placing third in Greco. He earned All-ESD honors in 2021, 2022, and 2023. He is the son of Darin and Amanda Johannsen.

Gavin Johnson is a 6-foot, 157-pound wrestler out of Kenyon-Wanamingo High School. He is a 5-year starter and team captain for the Knights under the direction of head coach Nathan Lexvold. Johnson tallied 124 wins in his junior season and is ranked first in the state as a senior. He is a 3-time state qualifier taking third. Additionally, Johnson is a member of the Gopher All-Conference team. of the He is the son of Dan and Erica Johnson.

Karstyn Lhotak is a 5-foot-7, lower weight grappler out of Wagner High School. He is a -4-year starter and team captain for the Raiders under the direction of head coach David Kocer. Lhotak is a 3-time state qualifier, finishing as both a South Dakota State Champion and runner-up. He is the son of Brad and Jen Lhotak.

Brady Westall is a 6-foot-1, 174-pound wrestler out of New Prague High School. He is a 4-year starter and team captain for the Trojans under the direction of head coach Dan Wagner. Westall has over 100 victories in his prep career, earning Metro West All-Conference honors in 2021, 2022, and 2023. He is a top-4 finisher at Preseason Nationals and the Rumble on the Red. New Prague finished as the Minnesota State High School League Runner-up in 2022-23, going 32-3 overall. He is the son of Jesse and Joleen Westall.

Rayden Zens is a 5-foor-4, lightweight wrestler out of Aberdeen Central High School. He is a 4-year starter and team captain for the Golden Eagles under the direction of head coach Donnie Bowden. Zens holds a career record of 120-24. He is a 3-time all-conference and all-state honoree. In addition, Central placed seventh at the state dual competition in 2023. He is the son of Heather and Randy Zens.
