MURDO, S.D.(KCCR)- In December, Murdo Economic Development was awarded 186-thousand dollars to put toward the establishing of two Governors Homes in community. Murdo Economic Development Director Ashley Geigle says her group was established only two years ago and this was a first exciting step in growing Murdo.
Geigle says the need for housing in a highway hub town like Murdo is surprising.
Versatility is one of the draws for people looking to Murdo for housing.
Geigle says officials in Murdo would like to see housing stock grow by at least three to four new homes and up to six new homes in the next five years.
