North IA (AberdeenWings.com) – The Wings traveled south for the weekend, and earned three of four points on the weekend putting Friday’s game to overtime, and winning Saturday with a score of 7-2.

Friday started out with a scoreless first period. Both teams played well defensively and only recorded 8 shots on goal for either side in the first. Early in the second period, Blake Ulve (North Iowa) would get the Bulls on the board. The rest of the period would go on without another goal from either side. A little less than halfway through the third period, Nikolai Tishkevich would get the Wings on the board and tie the game. The Bulls would then take the game with the OT goal going to Eli Miller.

Saturday would have a positive turnaround. Just twenty-nine seconds into the game, Nikolai Tishkevich would score to give the Wings a very early lead. This goal would be assisted by Zachary Reim and Weston Turner. After almost a whole period’s worth of play, North Iowa’s Blake Ulve would tie the game, and the first period ended with a 1-1 score. The second period almost went scoreless until Drew Mackie, at the 16:42 mark, would give the Wings a 2-1 lead heading into the third. This goal was assisted by Leonid Bulgakov.

The Wings ended the game adding five more goals to the scoreboard. The first was Simon Pollock at 1:08, assisted by Nikolai Tishkevich and Nick Comfort. The second was Logan Gravink at 4:08, assisted by Simon Pollock. Then, Wes Turner followed with an unassisted goal that would widen the Wings lead to 5-1. In the minutes following, Jackson Anderson would get his third goal of the season at 14:31, assists later being credited to Bennett Koupal and Matthew Wisener. About a minute later, Nikolai Tiskevich would get his thirteenth of the season and second of the night, assists later being credited to Zachary Reim and Weston Turner. To end the game, North Iowa’s Hayden Siegel would score to make the score 7-2 in favor of the Wings.

Adam Dybal, who was in net both nights, saved 21 of 23 on Friday night, and 18 of 20 on Saturday. The Wings will head to Riverside Arena next weekend to face the Austin Bruins.
