WATERTOWN, S.D.(KWAT)–More pre-trial motions hearings were held last week in an upcoming Watertown murder trial.
Jeremiah Peacemaker is accused of killing 28 year-old Kendra Owen, who was found dead at her residence in the 300-block of North Broadway in Watertown on September 2nd, 2020.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has taken over the lead prosecution in the case, but remains partnered with the Codington County State’s Attorney’s Office in seeking justice for Owen’s family.
Peacemaker’s trial has been delayed numerous times as attorneys on both sides argue what evidence should–or should not–be admissible at trial.
As of now, Peacemaker’s trial is scheduled to begin February 21st, and should last a week to 10 days.
