PIERRE, S.D.(KELO)- South Dakota’s proposed budget for next year is nearly 7.3-billion dollars…a 30-percent jump from two years ago.
Some are concerned that all the federal money the budget includes has warped the sense of what’s normal in Pierre.
Senate Majority Leader Casey Crabtree says the fact that some of the money is being cut, in the long run, is a good thing.
Legislators are considering a proposal to make last year’s temporary sales tax cut permanent, even though Federal funds are on the decline.
The state Senate will take up that measure in coming days.
