PIERRE, S.D.(KJJQ)- Next year will see South Dakota lawmakers gather for the state’s 100th Legislative session.
The House State Affairs Committee on Friday passed a resolution to form a committee to begin planning for the event.
The measure was brought by Representative Tony Venhuizen of Sioux Falls. He says a few ideas have already come up.
Senator David Wheeler of Huron is the Senate sponsor of the bill.
Venhuizen says there is a question he’s been asked about the 100th session.
He doesn’t see this being a major expenditure but the committee could raise private funding to cover any costs.
The resolution, HCR 6003, passed unanimously and moves to the House floor.
