MILBANK, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – A building southeast of Milbank that used to be a township schoolhouse went up in flames earlier this month.

Grant County Emergency Management said the incident happened on January 17.

Multiple agencies responded to the structure fire on 481st Avenue, southeast of Milbank. As crews arrived, they reported that the building was fully engulfed in flames. According to officials, that building was the former schoolhouse of Alban Township.

The fire was contained and no injuries were reported. Firefighters were on the scene for around 90 minutes.
